We love to spread some sauce on bread during meals and this sauce came out of this love. Such sauces are a part of the meal at some restaurants, especially at kebab restaurants. In these restaurants, they serve a sauce in which the main ingredient is tomato or pepper paste accompanied by butter and warm bread or pide. Other ingredients might vary, some use nuts, some use herbs or both. These are served before the main dish no matter you order or not. You can enjoy these while waiting for your order. Spread a little butter on a piece of hot pide, then the sauce on butter before letting it melt completely! And… No, there is no other step! Don’t wait any longer, just gulp that irresistible bite down!
I created a new sun-dried tomato sauce inspired by the ones at restaurants. This could be made with fresh tomatoes, too but as I feel sun-dried tomatoes have more flavor, I decided on them. These are the tomatoes mom dried for us, which makes them more special for me.
Besides spreading this sauce on bread, you have some more options to use it. You can use it as a spread on pizza dough or use it with pasta. I already make pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, but I’m going to use this sauce in my pasta next time.
