    Fresh Fig Bruschetta

    Jump to Recipe

You have fresh figs but no idea what to make with them? I got you covered. Here is a ridiculously easy no-bake dessert recipe you can make with them: Fresh Fig Bruschetta. Figs are dipped into tahini, slightly sweetened with date molasses and make a perfect bruschetta topping.

Easy sandwich with cream cheese and fresh figs coated with tahini, date syrup, pistachio and sesame seeds.

Fresh figs are my family’s all time favorite fruit. When they are ripe and jammy enough, we are the happiest. We have them at breakfast, lunch, dinner and between meals. As the fig season does not last long, we try to have them in as many possible ways as we can. And this fig bruschetta recipe has become our faovrite quick lunch these days. Another popular fig recipe on Give Recipe is rosemary oven roasted figs. Go check it out too if you haven’t tried it yet!

The idea of dipping fresh figs into tahini came out when we saw several chocolate dipped fig recipes on social media. We decided to make a unique version which is lighter, healthier and easier. You already know how much we LOVE tahini. So why don’t we dip figs into it?

    Ingredients

The ingredients for this easy fresh fig bruschetta recipe are quite simple and customizable. We need:

    • Fresh figs: Buy the freshest and jammiest ones.
    • Tahini: Use the best quality tahini you can find. The most famous brand in Turkey is koska tahini. I guess you can find their products in online shopping websites.
    • Date Molasses: It is a sweet and dark colored syrup made from dates. It is not a must in this recipe. We just use it as a natural sweetener. And in a very little amount. If you can’t find it, use grape molasses, maple syrup or agave syrup. If you are not after a vegan recipe, you can use honey too.
    • Crumbled Pistachios: We use them just because we love their flavor. You can use your favorite nuts.
    • Roasted Sesame Seeds: They add richness to the tahini flavor on the figs. You can buy them in the spice shelves in markets. If they are not roasted, we highly recommend you roast them in a pan beforehand. You can store any leftover roasted sesame seeds in a jar.
    • Cream cheese: Use your favorite soft cream cheese, plain or flavored.
    • Crusty bread: You can use sourdough bread or baguette. Slice it evenly.
Fresh figs dipped into tahini, sweetened with date molasses, garnished with pistachios and sesame seeds on a background.

    How To Make

This fresh fig bruschetta recipe is ridiculously easy with only a few steps:

    • Slice the figs lengthwise or widthwise.
    • Dip each slice in tahini and place them on a plate in a single layer.
    • Leave a drop of date syrup in the middle and gently spread it with the bottom of a small spoon.
    • Sprinkle crumbled pistachio and roasted sesame seeds on each.
    • Toast the bread slices in the oven or in a pan. If you are in a hurry, no need for toasting, just use them as they are.
    • Spread cream cheese over each slice of bread and top with the prepared fresh figs. You can drizzle each with olive oil, extra tahini or date molasses if you want.
    • If you want to keep your fig bruschetta vegan, use vegan cream cheese or mashed avocado or peanut butter as a spread and top it with figs.
