Watermelon is like a heavy green ball packed with juice and bursting into freshness. You should have seen how my one-year-old boy was amazed when he first met this huge green ball. He immediately wanted to hold it and he was looking in big curiosity after his hundreds of attempts. He was happy to discover the sweet and juicy inside of the ball. No need to tell that watermelon has become his favorite since then.
Although I love to have a big slice with the skin and munch on it, I want to give it a meal form when it’s not a simple snack. Chilled watermelon and feta salad is the best salty-sweet treat on our table these days. It keeps you as cool as Very Refreshing Cucumber Salad does. So if the dog days of summer causes you lose appetite, make your taste buds happy again with this Chilled Watermelon Feta Salad. The sweetness of watermelon and a little tangy and savory taste of feta make a wonderful combo!
Fresh salad is always the best meal during these sultry months and you can create numerous salads with fresh ingredients. But if you want a salad with lots of juice but still solid, watermelon feta salad is the best option. You know our body needs more liquid in such weathers as it loses a lot of the liquid stored.
I love the simplicity of this recipe. You don’t want to work on a recipe long hours when it’s intolerably hot, do you? To make a perfect watermelon and feta salad, chill it for 15 minutes and serve with crushed ice. Fresh mint leaves make things even more refreshing, so chop a little and toss over.
If you are looking for a watermelon salad which is uncommon, try it with Grilled Watermelon. Altough I love grilled fruit, have never tried grilling watermelon. Sounds intriguing, doesn’t it?
