Turkish Kofta Kebab Recipe

Kofta kebab served on lavash with sumac onions, tahini sauce and yogurt sauce.

Turkish kofta kebab made with ground lamb and beef, onion, garlic and spices.



  • 500g lamb mince
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 large onion
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 bunch of parsley (about 1 cup chopped)
  • ½ bunch of fresh mint, leaves only (¼ cup)
  • 1 and ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 2 teaspoon paprika


  1. Soak 14 wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat the oven at 200C.
  3. Put all the ingredients in a food processor. Pulse it until everything is combined. 
  4. Transfer the mixture in a large bowl. 
  5. Take a handful portion of the meat mixture and mould it on a wooden skewer. Repeat until you finish the mixture. 
  6. Roast them on the oven grill in two batches for 20 minutes.
  7. Serve with yogurt mint sauce or tahini sauce and onion salad or bean salad on the side.
