Baked chicken wings with a sticky sauce made with ketchup, honey and soy sauce.

Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 3 pounds chicken wings
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

For the Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple vinegar
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder

For Garnish:

  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325F (165C). Line 2 large baking sheets with baking pepper. In a large bowl, toss the wings with oil and salt.
  2. Place the wings on each baking sheets in a single layer. Bake until lightly browned, for 40 minutes.
  3. Meanwhile, whisk all the ingredients fort he sauce in a medium saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook over moderate heat until it thickens, stirring occasionally, about 15 minutes.
  4. Increase the oven temperature to 450F (230C). Transfer the wings into the sauce. Replace the baking paper on each baking sheet with clean ones. Arrange the wings in a single layer on each baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes more.
  5. You can serve the wings as they are now or toss them into the remaining sauce and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Notes

These are best when served hot. It's better to heat them in oven when they get cold.
