Pea Soup with Meatballs

A very comforting soup with peas and mini meatballs.



  • 2 cups peas
  • 250g ground beef
  • 1 onion
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 tbsp pepper paste, optional
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, sliced
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • 3 tbsp olive oil


  1. Combine ground beef with half of the salt and half of the ground black pepper.
  2. Grate half of the onion and add it to this mixture. Combine them well and make mini meatballs and set aside.
  3. Heat olive oil in a deep pot.
  4. Chop the rest of the onion and toss it in the pot.
  5. Add in pepper paste, garlic and chopped tomatoes, cook for a few minutes.
  6. Toss in peas and pour hot water over it.
  7. Add meatballs when it starts to boil.
  8. Add the other half of salt and pepper and cover the pot.
  9. Let it cook for about 20 minutes over medium low heat.
