Let me give you a secret. I sometimes havethis amazing homemade pizza sauce for a quick breakfast too. I just spread some on a toasted bread slice and enjoy it with my morning tea. If you love such ready-in-two-minutes breakfast treats, I can recommend you to top it with some feta as I sometimes do. Super yummy!
I’m sharing the recipe for homemade pizza sauce from scratch here, so it takes a bit of time to make it but it is definitely worth. You just need time. Nothing else! After putting all ingredients into a deep pot, you will just let it simmer until it is thick enough. See how you work very little? We are in the best season to make your homemade pizza sauce since we have the best tomatoes. You know summer tomatoes taste far better, you can even feel that with their heavenly scent.
Why don’t we make things at home when it is possible and very easy? This homemade pizza sauce doesn’t have any additives, it’s completely natural. Isn’t it a good reason for giving it a try? That’s why I almost always prefer trying homemade version of several foods and make my own Basic Homemade Flour Tortillas or Homemade Pomegranate Molasses. I’m not totally against store-bought things, but if it’s simple and easy I make it myself.
I use my Homemade Tomato Paste in this pizza sauce as I always have it in my kitchen. If you are crazy enough about homemade things, you can make it this summer and use it all year long. You can of course buy it if you like things easier or quicker. Besides dried thyme, I use fresh basil so that the flavor stands out. And to give it a personal twist, I used some fresh purslane leaves. That’s optional for sure. Just leave it out if you can’t find it in your area or don’t feel like new flavors in your pizza sauce.
You can make this homemade pizza sauce in large amounts and can them for future use. Just make sure the lids of jars are new and not used before. Share the sauce in the jars when it is simmering, tighten the lids very firm immediately and put the jars upside down at least for 6 hours or until they are completely cold. That’s it. You can enjoy this sauce with any recipe you want.Print
