These Gluten Free Brownie Cookies are like brownies in disguise! If you love very chocolatey treats, I guarantee you will be smitten by these right after the first bite.

These are moist and full of chocolate, enough to heal any melancholy! I wouldn’t even notice that these brownie cookies are flourless if I weren’t the maker.

Gluten Free Brownie Cookies With Cocoa Powder
These are my first gluten free chocolate cookies and I’m definitely convinced that they are as good as the ones that contain flour. I was suspicious at first about using cocoa only in the recipe. Is the batter going to hold together well? I saw that there was no need to worry, it does hold very well thanks to the egg inside. These brownie cookies have a load of dark chocolate chips. You will be satisfied with the strong chocolate flavor in these cookies.

I topped them with white chocolate chips, but you can substitute chopeed hazelnuts for them if you like a little nutty flavor with chocolate.

I had been planning to make these cookies for one of my lovely colleagues who was diagnosed with celiac disease. We had a meeting with about 20 people a few months ago and I made these very light Orange Cookies to take to the meeting. I just forgot to check who would join the meeting, so I didn’t know that she would be there too. You can imagine how I felt when everyone was enjoying the orange cookies with nom noms and she couldn’t even taste. She was kind enough to say that it was ok, but I decided to make something just special for her right at that moment.

Why Flourless Brownie Cookies?
When I took my homemade flourless brownie cookies to her, she said she had been craving for something full of chocolate for some days. Hope my cookies fit the bill! Celiac is not a well known disease around the country and there aren’t many gluten-free options at the markets here. I often receive emails from my non Turkish readers living in Turkey asking for gluten free recipes. I already have these Chestnut Flour Cookies, but I will be making more cookies or even cakes that don’t call for wheat flour.
I must restate that these gluten free brownie cookies are not just for people with celiac disease. If you love soft, moist and delicate chocolate cookies, you will be addicted to these! These are even better a day after they are baked.

Dear Yusuf,
thank you so much for this! I wish you could include (when available), also the measures in grams or ml for those, as myself, that are from other countries. Please also notice that when you rescale the recipe, the weight of butter (110g), as it is part of the name of ingredient, doesn't change for 1X, 2X and 3X.
All the best,
Jef
Zerrin thankyou so so much for this recipe. I was also diagnosed with celiac disease, last year. And i make ur recipes quite alot for.my family but never tasted those. But your chestnut cookies are superb.i just love those. And finally there was something for me too. I love all recipes because they have simple basic ingredients. Whereas when u search the web for gluten free recipes, they have really different flours dat r usually not easily available.
Keep up the great work.
Thanks.
Fatima, glad to hear that my recipes help you! I know what you mean when the recipe calls for an ingredient that can't easily be found. Disappointing! I try to make them with regular ingredients as I want to show that gluten-free foods can be tasty too with what we already have. Cheers!
Zerrin, thanks a lot again for making these delicious cookies for me. it was just the right time when you brought them to my office. You can't imagine how much I liked them! The greatest treat I have ever received recently. Ellerine saglik 🙂
Meral, it's my pleasure! Happy to hear that you liked them! Afiyet olsun arkadaşım.
