Avocado Beet Smoothie is a well-developed recipe from the leftover fruit. Do you have beets in your fridge waiting for ages? And Don’t you have a single idea what to make with them? You can create a scrumptious smoothie recipe with it. From my expereince, I saw that turning something into a yummy smoothie is the best way to use the fruit or vegetable you almost forget in your fridge. I made this one using my steamed beets, a very ripe banana, half of a huge pomegranate and half avocado. They were all waiting for the holy day I would use them. And I ended up with this health boosting, energizing and incredibly tasty red smoothie. I will definitely be making it often since I love the idea of packing vitamins in such a delicious drink.
I just can’t stop myself buying beets when I see them fresh at the market. I mostly grate them raw in salads or just steam, chill and servet hem chopped with a tangy and garlicky dressing. This time I made Double Chocolate Beet Cake, which is known as orgasmic velvety chocolate cake and I had some steamed beets left. Bananas ripen very fast, well at least for our family because noone enjoys them as they are and I have to develop something yummy with them before they completely die. I made banana milkshake but there was still one left. As for the half avocado, it was left when we made a quick Avocado and Chickpea Sandwich. Pomegranate is the favorite fruit of the youngest member of our family but he can’t eat it up himself. So combining these in a smoothie was my best solution to save the poor fruit in the fridge. Besides beets, avocado and pomegranate, I used honey and orange juice. Actually these made the magic. So maybe I should have called it Orange Honey Banana Pomegranate Avocado Beet Smoothie. Too long!
Avocado Beet Smoothie could be something I would avoid if I weren’t the person who makes it. But the result was definitely surprising for me. It was yummy! You don’t feel the earthy flavor of beet and avocado. So you just need to know what to combine with these.
We had this Avocado Beet Smoothie as a sweet snack after lunch. Well, it’s not my type of thing to have it at breakfast, but you can have it in the morning too.
