Grilled Potatoes

Grilled Potatoes |

I love simple food. Who doesn’t?

Grilled potatoes are one of my favorite simple foods.Whenever we go on a picnic and grill lamb sish or chicken wings, I look forward to finishing that part. I can’t wait to bury a few potatoes in leftover embers! Everyone loves grilled lamb or chicken, so do I, but I do love grilled potatoes more. I’m not sure if I can call them grilled as we don’t use the grill, we just bury them in embers. We don’t use aluminium foil, either. Potatoes have a wonderful coal flavor when they are done, so there is no need to add any spices. Just eat them as they are! These potatoes can be served as a side dish or you can snack on them just like me.

That is exactly the kind of simple food I love too (no surprises there, really!) If I had any embers to spare, I’d be doing the same thing :)

I discovered your blog today while searching for purslane recipes, and I have to say that I am in love. You have so many terrific ideas and terrific recipes that I can’t wait to try. This afternoon I want to make unripe grape juice as we have a vine near our house full of unripe grapes whose grapes tend to taste icky even when fully ripe, so this will be a good way to put them to use. I live in the same general region (Meditteranean area) so I have much of the same things readily available to me, so I’m excited to have found your blog. Come check out my blog as well if you get a chance- I also have a bunch of recipes, but not all from this region- I like making traditional foods from around the world.

I love “grilled-baked” potatoes. And also red onions. We cover them in aluminum foil and throw them in the leftover fire from the grill. MMM delicious !!!

Great reminder that simple is best and that to really taste the goodness there is no need to get complicated in its preparation.
