As it’s getting colder, our body temperature changes and metabolism gets slower. This is one of the main reasons why people gain weight during winter. The best way to speed up our metabolism is to have salad at meals. A healthy salad of your choice is a perfect pair for chicken or meat dishes for lunch or dinner. You know not all salads are healthy though, so try to avoid fattening dressings. Use lemon juice or vinegar and a little olive oil instead. Use veggies and greens that are in season. You can even add orange or grapefruit segments into your salad to make it even richer in vitamin C, which protects us from getting cold.
